I'm using ScummVM on an N800 to play The Dig. The first problem I had was activating the light bridge. Normally you'd hold the left mouse button down on a green button in the game until the bridge fully extends. This for some reason proved almost impossible to do as for some reason Scumm kept thinking I was removing the stylus (I tried my finger too but that was even worse).

Also does anyone know how to do a right mouse click? I'll need that later in the same game for one of the puzzles.

Hmm, I finished this game on N770 and did not notice anything. Right button is center button on the directional pad but I don't remember using it while playing this game. Oh wait, it was used for the rotation of the bones, right?

Someone on IRC said that touchscreen on N800 is too sensitive so there is some kind of filter in touchscreen kernel driver to smooth the data and filter out irregularities. Maybe some events get lost somehow in the process and scummvm is confused. Unfortunately I don't have n800 to check the difference. Try not to move the pen while pressing the button. Or if the right click work for this too use the key instead of touching the screen.

The holding down the left button problem does appear to be the game thinking I've stopped pressing down. There are more light bridges so I'll experiment a bit later.

A side question: How did you get ScummVM to install? I tried downloading it to my N800 from the website and application manager said "this is incompatible with your software" and wouldn't let it install. Did you have to do something special to get it to run?

Hi,
I Installed Scummvw on my 770, and it seemed to work a few times, but now it always quits after a few seconds on the first game screen/level. I walk around in the game and the app quits right away. Anyone know why? have the same problem? know how to fix? thanks. I tried to read the forum threads on scummvm but didn't see this problem.

Which game? What version of scummvm?
The best is to run /usr/games/scummvm from osso-xterm and see what it prints when it quits.

Hi, I sent the message about scumm quitting. I must have been tired not to include the game: It is BASS. My scumm version is? the one I downloaded through a repository, I am not sure how to check online and my mom 770 is at home. Maybe its version 0.9.1 like it says on maemo. I should try to reinstall I think. Do I just delete all scummvm files? which version should I try of scummvm? I can get it from your website. So, should I try 10.0-4?
Hi, it is better to post to the forum. You can install 10.0-4 over existing version, it will be upgraded, just click the link to the 10.0-4 deb on your 770.

As for tracing what is the problem, run scummvm from osso-xterm as I suggested in previous post. It will print what is wrong. Most probably upgrading scummvm won't fix the problem.

thanks fanoush. here's what xterm printed:
"fatal signal: segmentation fault (sdl parachute deployed)"
this was the last message. First came:
"warning: can not find theme config file 'modern.ini'!
and,
"warning: could not initialize your preferred theme, falling back to classic style!"
..... (can't type all - RSI)
"Found BASS..."
and then like 15 of this entry - with different byte amounts:
"Warning: unable to read 10819 bytes from datadisk (0 bytes read).

Some of these messages are normal, I guess?
How about the "unable to read" and fatal signal messages?
ty in advance. I will play around with it too.

These don't look right. Maybe your BASS copy is corrupted or incomplete?

Do I need files for both the floppy and the cd version of the game, or just one? for example for BASS?

Yes, it is not there for Diablo (as explained on the page). You can 'single click install' this deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/chinook/free/s/scummvm/scummvm_0.12.0_armel.deb
