Is there an easy way to get the 770 to play a full CD, one cut after the other? I drag and drop a full CD onto my 2GB card. The audioplayer stops after each cut and I need to manually start the next one.
FYI, I'm a real beginner. Don't even know how to install programs on the 770 yet.

What, an audio CD?
Have you tried ripping the music onto your desktop first and then drag them onto the memory card. :)
You can use wmp or dbpoweramp or any other software that allows you to rip content to your pc.

You need to have a playlist. You can use PLCreator :

It was a ripped CD that I dragged onto the memory card of my 770. However, when I click on it, it only opens to the individual tracks. This happens whether I open the audio player first or not.
Can I tied them without a new application?

On my N800, ripped tracks from a whole album if I want to play all the album it's
Music>Artists>Albums>The album name>then all the tracks play
(or Music>Album etc etc )
The only thing that annoys me is that I cannot play all the songs of either a particular genre or a particular artist!
I hope there is an application - for both our sakes :)

I installed PLCreator. It grabbed one of my full CD's but not three others. I figure that's because they are WMAs while the one CD grabbed is the only one that's MP3.
When I put on more MP3 CDs will it just grab all of them or can I make indivdual playlists for each CD?

Jose - I've raised bug #954 (https://maemo.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=954) for this... on my N800 I can play all tracks for a particular genre, but playing albums for a particular artist is definately not working.

is there a simple way to create a playlist via text files or anything?

You could do something like the following (untested, but I've used similar in the past):
find /media/mmc1 -type -f -name '*.mp3' | sed -e 's/^/file:\/\/\//' >playlist.m3u

I see the same :(
All I want to do is play a whole album, and that is the thing it won't do.. I hope it gets fixed!

When I click on an album and then click play, something completely different plays. However if I open the album so all songs are displayed and then click play the album will play normally.
This is a bug in that it doesn't work in the way it is expected by the user or the way many other programs work.

on mine, under Library > Music
it says:
Artitst: 15
Albums : (no albums)
Songs: 188
Genres: (no genres)
I copied onto my SD card a bunch of folders from my PC that had been ripped using WMP. Is this an issue with it not recognizing albums from Windows media Player?

Tabster - what are the ID3 tags for the tracks you copied?

the files are .wma files. maybe albums are not supported in the Media player? The artist part and song title seems to work.
Do most people use MP3 files?

Update:
I deleted all the wma files from my device, converted 3 albums to mp3 format and copied them to my SD card.
Guess what! It now recognizes Artist, Album, Genre :)

Sorry, my bad - ID3 is for mp3's!
I don't use WMA format, I assume they have the equivalent of ID3 tags - were the Album and Genre tags populated in your WMA files? If they were, it's most likely a bug/limitation of the Media Player app which isn't reading WMA tags correctly - you should file a bug.

Yep. It is either a bug or a limitation. For now though I am just going to use mp3s

confrimed. wma files read the track name and artist, but fail on album with the internal media player.
