N800 Storage to MMC/SD

Can someone tell me how you install applications to the MMC/SD cards instead of the internal memory?

So far, I have only installed Xterm and VPNC, but there was never an option as to where to put them.

Do I have to reconfigure something on the N800?

Also, does anyone know the delete command in Xterm?
