N900 mac tethering vodafone romania settings!

Hello. I am new here. My name is Mihai and I need some help. Does anyone know what are the settings for thetering the N900 to a macbook pro with snow leopard ?

I am from Romania and I am unsing the N900 on Vodafone Romania.

I have tried all variations of APN/username/password and nothing. My internet provider APN is live.vodafone.com but it does not work

Use orange, come to the dark side. There was nothing to configure here, just plug 'n play :D

Do you have an internet link? As in, if you use the settings provided, does the N900 link up and let you use the internet? If it doesn't you have a different issue from tethering.

Also, in order to use the laptop, you need internet, not wap or portal services. IIRC live is a portal service.

Make sure you have a full internet plan, then try to connect with N900, try both browser and e-mail, or some other app that uses non-http ports.

Once that works, you can move to tethering.

IMO, your plan should be "Mobile Internet" not "Vodafone Live". Call them and ask if you have full internet (make sure you specify you want e-mail from a POP3 account or something), if it's enabled and what are the connection settings.

The one they sent when I powered up my phone never worked. The phone linked up but the IP was bad and I never got a link. I think it's the Live portal.
