Run a webserver on your Windows box and get the files like http://192.168.1.2/file.txt Make sure you replace the ip address with whatever your windows ip is. To get it go to run, type cmd then ipconfig /all

If you need two way transfer install an ftp server on either and and an ftp client on the other end

http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/ works excellent with Windows and N900 over Wifi and 3G for up- and downloading via the browser.

Both are available on N900. Also, FTP works both ways with ease so N900 can be client.

You could install the ssh client on the n900 and the ssh server on the other computer.

u can also use orb. it it has its own server and u can view ur computers files from anywhere where wifi is available, as long as ur pc is on. u can browse, copy, and even stream media live from ur computer. go to orb.com u dont even need to install any app on the n900, u just go straight to orb.com and log in. and u dont need to do any complicated server stuff, just download the app, create an app, and ur good
