Urgent:NEw Owner in trouble

Hey guys
i just drove some 50 miles to buy the n800.its running out of stores in the DC area RAPIDLY. I started it..and it connected and was working ok ..now:
1. I cant connect to ANYTHING..keep getting Network error..whichever network i try to connect to.cant connect google talk or rss feeds NOTHING!
2. is there a reset button anywhere?

Power switch at the top, otherwise remove the battery.

tried all that. doesnt seem to work. is there a reset button somewhere?or restore factory settings?

Removing the battery is the ultimate reset button.

If you want to reset to factory defaults, reflash the firmware using the Nokia flashing tool (or Wizard on Windows).

Don't be hasty though - are you sure the problem is with the N800 and not the networks? Have you modified the N800 network connection to use a proxy or changed the WiFi advanced defaults?

i have removed the battery. Dont know how or what to change the proxy to nor do i see any wifi advanced defauls anywhere..can you send me a link to the last one?

i found the reset button, did clear user data, did restore factory settings NOTHING works! cant get it to connect at all to anything!

I guess it goes back to the store

Go to Control Panel -> Connectivity. Click Connections.

Select one of the configured WiFi access points and click Edit.

Click Next on each page, check the connection settings are correct (pay special attention to any security settings such as the shared key etc.). Click Next until you get to the last page on the setup dialog and you will see a small button with the label "Advanced" - click it.

Check you have nothing setup in the Proxies tab, and that "Auto-retrieve IP address" and "Auto-retrieve DNS" are set if you are running a DHCP server on your network (if not, uncheck these options and fill in the missing fields).

Click OK to save the Advanced settings, then click Finish followed by Done, and then OK.

What access points have you tested with so far? Are these access points using any security settings?

My N800 is working fine with a Linksys WRT54GS in mixed 11b/g mode with WPA-PSK/TKIP security. IP and DNS details are provided by DHCP from a Win2K Server (admittedly a static IP address based on MAC address).
