Remove boxes from around icons?

hi just got my new n900 and was wondering if someone could tell me how to remove the annoying boxes around the logos on your screen ie the brown box around the google sign !!! i belive it could be a theme i need could someone put me in touch with what i need and how to do it cheers !!!!:):)
