Hello community!!

I'm new to all of this, Just got my N900, my first Nokia device obiously my first Maemo experience I feel finally comfortable, free.

Well I'm not hacker or similar, I'm graphic designer/illustrator/photographer so you may understand my tendence to art, the by all I know if there is a platform where possibilities are high is in Maemo one of the thing I need to feel better is something where I can do sketches, I don't like my friends walks alone with their iPhones doing stuff while I can do mine, later I will post my review at amazon with more requests but in this Thread I'll just ask for a relative basic illustration tool.

Enough by now, let me know if there is something for me, even if is not free but is good enough I'm getting it.

Have a quick search for myPaint - I believe there's an n900 version available that might be what you're looking for.

I gather maePad is also on the way. http://thpmaemo.blogspot.com/2010/02/announcing-maepad-for-maemo-5.html

You might want to look at that. Though I've seen some amazing stuff created just with sketch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRbnn7D3qbI). (Check at about 3.40 mins)

Well, MaePad is not an art app (just a basic sketcher), and myPaint is kinda unusable on the tablet (at least the version I have seen).

At 4:00 he's drawing on the screen with a pencil!

Link to myPaint (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41807) - haven't tried it, though.

I use Xournal for sketching. It is really good for that, even if it gets a little bit slow when you've painted for a while...

Hello people thanks for the replies!

I already tried xournal, daddeddad is right, it get slow with the work progress, myPaint is the more promising option I see by now, maepad looks good too, but they appear to need some additional work before a none expert user like me to adventure the non finished software.

I guess will need to wait a bit more for those interesting good app, common team hurry up!!

You could always use gimp with easy debian. Obviously its not going to be as fast as a desktop, but it is usable.
