Wondering if anyone knows how I can connect my n900 to my laptop's internet connection in ubuntu? I've tried ad-hoc wireless, but this seems extremely flaky and I've no idea how to debug it — is this possible using either bluetooth or a usb connection?
Any advice would be great
Thanks

There is a linux firewall GUI called Firestarter ('http://freshmeat.net/projects/firestarter/') that has an "internet connection sharing wizard" and makes things like this very simple. I believe ad-hoc wireless is supported (can't remember, and for some reason can't reach the main ('http://www.fs-security.com/') site).
May be something that could help.

Tried it, didn't help a great deal. It's not that I can't get wifi working, it's that it only works intermittently, which is why I want to explore alternatives with bluetooth/usb.

If you setup a USB network which should be explained in the Wiki.. you should be able to use that interface in Firestarter to setup your sharing as well.
Yeah found it ('http://wiki.maemo.org/USB_networking')
