Hi there,

I was wondering if there was anyway to add a USB ethernet adapter to the N900?

I was thinking if you could get a simple little USB ethernet adapter, you could then plug your N900 into a router/switch (AKA the internet) and then perhaps use something like joikuspot to allow wireless connections to your phone to give others internet access (once the N900 version of joikuspot is developed of course).

This would allow you to use the N900 as a wireless router, through an ethernet port... which would come in very handy. I know you could use the GPRS connection, however that can cost money and bandwidth/speed wouldn't be as good as a direct connection

I'm a bit of a noob so have no idea if this would be possible...

:-)

damn. is it a hardware restriction then? or is it something that could happen sometime in the future with firmware/hackery?

here (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=31921) is the relevant thread with all the info.

not sure if there'll ever be a nice solution for this...
