Is it possible to convert an app to a widget?

I found some apps that would be more useful if they were widgets. Like "Watch Touch" in Ovi Store. Why do i have to enter some app just to see the time? It would be a lot more useful if it was widget. So if anyone can tell me how to convert an app to a widget, i would be very thankful.

As far as i know, the apps in the Ovi Store are not open sourced.
That would require a rewrite from scratch.
