In the US, Nbcolympics.com uses microsoft silverlight, so we cant watch them there yet. What do other countries use?

Its on the bbc so here are some links. They should automatically open up the in built media player.
BBC1 rtsp://212.58.251.101:554/bbc-rbs/rmlive-3gp/rtpencoder/bbc1_h264.sdp?service_id=bbc_one_london
BBC2 rtsp://212.58.251.101:554/bbc-rbs/rmlive-3gp/rtpencoder/bbc2_h264.sdp?service_id=bbc_two_england
BBC3 rtsp://212.58.251.101:554/bbc-rbs/rmlive-3gp/rtpencoder/bbc3_h264.sdp?service_id=bbc_three
BBC4 rtsp://212.58.251.101:554/bbc-rbs/rmlive-3gp/rtpencoder/bbc4_h264.sdp?service_id=bbc_four
Not sure if they work abroad as I am in UK. But give them a try :)

for uk users you can use the iplayer downloader, ok it's not live. but a good way to catch up.
(can work if you can make iplayer beleive you are in the uk for others.)

It does not need flash 10. It is a lower quality stream. Just copy the link and paste it into the browser. This will automatically open the built in media player. I watch the streams all the time. They are live and about 5 seconds out from actual tv.

I can open these links directly in Kmplayer but not media player. Its opens the video briefly then goes straight to the internet radio screen (the buffering screen).
Am I missing some functionality or codecs?
cheers

works fine for me, i do have the extra decoder pack installed though. (in extras) ... have to admit, the quality is realllllllly bad - will stick to the iplayer downloader :)

Hi!
In Norway we also need to watch the games using Silverlight.
In Ubuntu this works fine using Moonlight 3.0 Preview 2.
On N900 when trying to download this plug in I get an error message saying it is not compiled for ARM.
How come Nokia has not put a big effort on making this run on N900. Imagine what good publicity this would give this device!
On http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/News/Linux-tablet-vendor-pledges-Silverlight-support/ it is claimed that:
Nokia promised to support Microsoft's cross-platform multimedia plugin across its major mobile device products. The Finnish mobile-phone giant will add Silverlight support to Symbian S60 smartphones, Series 40 devices, and Linux-based Nokia Internet tablets, it said.
So, NOW, is the time too keep this promise!

I'm not sure about silverlight for nokia tablets. but im sure as hell that I watched a demo of flash 10 months ago. now is the time for release. at least before the icehockey final. I will travel during that time and will depend on my N900...
come on adobe
we won`t be seeing Flash 10.1 on Maemo any time soon.....Even their release info doesn`t mention 'maemo' in the supporting devices......now the new Win7 won`t be supported!....this gives me a clue that adobe is way back on their schedule delivering 10.1.In my opinion, the demo was just flash 9.4.If you go on the same websites they demoed on video, they have exactly the same framerate as their 'supposed' 10.1....this is a dead giveaway that what we saw on video is just 9.4

I'd like to trade my soul for N900-optimized YLE TV2 and YLE FST5 -streams.

Try this (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44571&highlight=iplayer). Haven't tried it myself yet but in theory it's a solution.
