go into profiles and set the volume to minimum for email/IM

Is there an easy way to turn off all the email and IM notifications, yet still have the fone ring if there is a call?

i have 4 IM and 2 email accounts. i went into profile (general) and turned the volume all the way down. while i was doing something else, an email (spam) came in and the fone chimed. i want to be able to have the fone in the bedroom while i am sleeping and still be able to receive emergency fone calls, yet not get woken up by emails.
