question about the GPS / maps...

I'm travelling abroad and downloaded all the maps for it, so I can still use my GPS without connecting to GPRS internet.

when I dsconnect from my GPRS internet, I can't search for a location in the map, but I downloaded some maps. is it possible to search with maps installed? the maps show, but no search :(

You can get GPS fix without being connected to the internet (outdoors, clear view to the sky works best).

Searching works offline, but not very well. The search function is not very good at all, even online...

that's strange. I cant even find my own address when I search. offline.

I've tried just the numbers, just the street name. nothing.

yeah the search is wierd when online. it will work, but not consistently. you have to search 2 or 3 times to get what you want. if you try enough you can get your results though, so it's not broken completely I guess.

AFAIK, that is the expected behavior

maps offilne, search online only.

you still can set ponts by touching the map and the route is offline too

you can search online and set the route points, so you can still go from a to b if you have internet in point a
