Hi all, i've created this theme, spending a lot of time, i hope you like it... i really love graffiti art :rolleyes: I've putted it in my own repository, but you can also download it directly as optified .deb file :)

I think you can install it by opening the .deb from file manager (I haven't tried this myself but some say it works). Or run in x-term (you need to have rootsh installed):
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i downloaded_deb.deb

If you have the latest firmware installed, you can install it just tapping on the .deb file :)

If you have problems with deb files try setting up my repository:

Go into the Application manager.
Tap the menu --> Application catalogs --> new

Catalog name: Maemoitalia
Web address: http://maemoitalia.com
Distribution: n900
Components: repo

Here you can find my Nokia N900 themes :D

This theme change lots of icons without deleting the original ones in the hicolor folder;)

looks great ..... nice take on the icons.... will be using this theme for awhile!
my only moan would be the icon sizes .... the blue surrounding the icons could be a little bit thinner ....

i think users need to hit the "thanks" button on 1st page :)

some suggestions, media player widget needs to be bit more transparent so do bookmarks on desktop.

maybe removing the desktop icon surround will look nicer.

elisa .... now i have your repo i checked out a few of your other themes ..... very very cool ..... why dont you send them into development repo so people who missed this post can check em out?

i agree with ronaldo, it would look better without icon surrounds as it makes the desktop appear more cluttered.
and notification would be better if it changed when you have a message or other apps open .... how about a few spray cans standing up in a straight line as the normal picture and when you receiive a message or have multiple apps open then use the existing 'fallen over cans' picture???

@elisa - I'm using this theme for almost a month =P.. i like this theme...i would like this more if the color of icons is not that ... the blueish one.. it would be nice if it's different neon color... and can i request a different background? i want to change the girl wearing headphone to a boy one...

hey..i love the looks of this theme..i have to say one thing..cant really explain why this is happening..whenever i use this theme, my cpu usage increases dramatically and stays at high levels while its the active theme...has anyone else noticed this?

Awesome graphics! By far the best looking custom screens and icons out there!

Only drawback is that it makes all the 3rd party desktop icons look ugly and out of place in comparison.

And since i dig the style so much I really hope you'll dig deeper into the menus, giving all of it that graffiti overfhaul.

EDIT: only bug I've found so far is the RSS widget - the buttons overlap the bottom RSS headline.

hi noticed when i get a notifcation the letf corner indicator does not seem to change when i have multi screen open or when i get a notifiction.

could you change that so it works like the stock themes, otherwise i cannot tell if i have more then one app running or i have a text/ misscall

Actually, the icon does change when you get a notitification - to a slightly blurred version of itself. :)

I've had a quick play with altering the image file to one that stands out more, but so far it's not looking any good!

The on screen keyboard is not right. It looks like some layers are missing. I did several reboots and nothing.

Will there be an update? Also is there anyway to convert more icons (3rd party applications) into the theme?

This is how the on-screen keyboard looks like even for me.....i guess it takes into assumption that you know where the shift and backspace buttons are :D

This pack include:
1) fix for virtual keyboard (pr1.2)
2) improvement for icon dashboard
3) fix emoticons (few icons do not match the meaning of the text)

This is the archive.
For install, i've write two procedure. Use your favorite...

X Terminal Procedure Guide (Prerequisites --> install rootfs):
1) connect N900 to the PC (Massive storage mode)
2) Extract archive (opt folder & graffiti.sh) to MyDocs (root folder of N900)
3) Disconnect N900
4) Lauch X Terminal
5) Digit:
sudo gainroot
mv /home/user/MyDocs/graffiti.sh . <-- attention to the point!
chmod +x /home/user/graffiti.sh
sh graffiti.sh6) Wait Reboot

Client/SSH Server Procedure Guide (Prerequisites --> install openssh server):
(I suppose you know use the program client/SSH)
1) Extract archive (opt folder & graffiti.sh) to PC
2) Open your client SSH (winSCP or FileZilla are example) and connect to N900
3) Copy only opt folder to root folder on N900
4) overwrite files
5) reboot N900

That's all!!!
I hope my bad English is the hardest part! :D

If we install it this way we won't get the update when it's available right? Cause we already have it or will it pop up still to update the theme?

EDIT: By the way, do we have to be on another theme to do this? Or we could still have the theme on and it will work as long as we reboot?

To answer my EDIT question, no need to change theme before making changes. :cool:

This is my personal fix, i don't know if elisa release a official update.
Anyway, this fix simply add/overwrite image files and it's compatible with future update.

would you be able to make a fix to change the menu icons to default ones? i love this but the inconsistency of the default and custom icons sometimes ruins this for me. otherwise, this theme rocks. hope the make would make more custom icons for this one. thanks.

Hello,

Is there anyway of getting these themes by elisa the Oriental Dream and Graffiti ones at the moment?

I have found something on smartphonetab.net where someone says they have redone the themes for 1.2/1.3 but after using babel fish to translate the site and register on the forum I cant seem to get the files and then the Smartphonetab repository doesnt work?

Anyone have these or know how I can install then?

I was thining that Nathans files were the theme but this is just the fix that copies the fixed icons into the theme directory has anyone got the original theme they can host with instructions to install or even a zip with the full theme with the fix applied? Also has anyone got the Oriental Dream Theme?

Hello, I found a deb file hosted online for 1.4 of the graffiti theme then applied the fix that Natan_xy posted.

All seems fine apart from contact shortcuts and web shortcuts that I had on my desktops dont show up now.

Is this a known issue/is there a fix?

Also Natan_xys fix zip has got different icons to the ones that are shown in the preview ie they are pretty much the normal ones rather than the graffiti style ones.

EDIT: Ignore that seem to have it sorted now I reinstalled the 1.4 deb without the fix and restarted now it all seems to be sorted. Great looking theme! :D

To install it download the Deb file to a folder on your phone I put it into the main folder of the memory.

Then open up Xterminal type "sudo gainroot" to get root control.

Then move to the directory:

cd /home/usr/MyDocs/

next to install the deb file type:

dpkg -i <nameofdebfile>.deb

think the name is somenumber then maemoitalia-graffiti-theme.deb something like that anyway,

Use:

ls *.deb to get the name if unsure.

Heres a few screens shots of the backgrounds ive only shown 3 theres a 4th one as well and then a screenshot of the icons on the menu too. Theres also new icons for the smileys etc in chat.

For me definitely the best theme ive tried.

Ignore that big blueicon in the middle thats not one of the graffiti ones its just the icon for fast app manager.

The font im using is Jon Sans which I downloaded from DaFont site and used Font Changer to set it up.

I was thinking a really cool idea for a live wallpaper would be a graffiti background that starts off with a blank wall that slowly sprays the art onto the wall then resets etc. Would need someone to do draw the graffiti art in a drawing program while video capturing the screen then converting the video to avi or to an SWF.
