Hi Maemo Community!

When i recieve text and email notifications (the yellow pop ups) there seems to be some 'garbling' or interference in the pop up header.

The text displays fine but there appears to be some random black lines, like someone has scribbled some straight lines on it with a pencil, along the top left of the box.

Has anyone else experienced this or possible have a solution to fix this?

If it were to happen on a desktop computer say it would almost seem to suggest to me that there was a problem with the graphics card...

Not life threatening by any means and just been bugging me slightly but hoping one of you guys can help me.

Are you sure it's not your screen?

Change your background to a white background and see then.

Give your phone a reboot aswell

I remember having had such artifacts before one of the firmware updates - not sure which one. They were on the screen, not on a window title.

So I'd agree with rash.m2k: Try a bright background image, maybe these distortions are always visible?

Also, I think I read that one of these tricks people came up with to achieve longer battery lives could lead to such issues. Did you try any of these dirty tricks?

Rebooted the phone and changed background. All seems fine. Changed background back to previous one and its still ok!

I havent tried any dirty tricks yet benny1967. Too scared i'll break my N900. Have already been through one and made some what i now hear to be classic mistakes without knowing what i was doing, trying to take good care of this one and do some research before blindly installing applications, notably from extras-devel! ha ha.

Thanks guys. Maemo Community members are so helpful its great!

I've seen this occasionally. A reboot always seems to resolve it, no need to change background or anything else.

Always a good idea to reboot your N900 every now and then, especially if you play with it alot, firmware is new and features are being added all the time, so a nice clean reboot is always good.

It will be sometime before we don't need to ever reboot the N900.
