I hereby order Gavin to make an FFXIII theme for the Nokia N900.

OR he can go to google.com click on 'images' and then search "ff xiii wallpaper" and then save one onto his device.

I'm sorry Gavin but I didn't get my share of the $600 I understand that you want a Final Fantasy 13 Theme. If you feel you deserve one due to the cost of the phone I am sorry you are mistaken the Final Fantasy 13 theme is extra but if you will send the proper payment to my Paypal I will make sure that it gets created and you get a copy.

Hi, I'm new here :P I'm really excited about my N900 which will arrive very soon. After looking through this site a bit I realized I can learn alot. I'm planning to make my own theme aswell. Ofcourse I could ask for a theme, but making it myself will not only provide me with a theme of my own liking, but also with some experience with the device itself =D

But look at the one with AndrewFBlack asking for screenshots. You have someone who can make themes interested.

On the other hand, whilst this thread may be more active, this thread is a discussion on etiquette with nobody actually taking an interest in making the theme proposed in this thread. :)

In addition to backgrounds/font I imagine it would try to make buttons and panels and/or whatnot looking like elements in the FFXIII GUI...

I'd be happy to have such a theme. I'd probably change the backgrounds, though, so it would look like more of a generic future-fantasy theme than specifically a FFXIII theme.

Post the god damn reference screenshots if you want something besides wallpapers, lockscreen, appmgr/mediaplayer backgrounds.

Also, you might want to add a rectangular darkened area to the backgrounds as they are currently obscuring the text and the icons.

well i bascially copied the alpha theme off my phone and started replacing images changing paths in files and stuff, im still not 100% what im doing xD"""

as for the wallpapers and stuff like i said this was about 15mins in, the backgrounds need a good tuneup when you scroll u can see the meeting points, doesnt merge smooth and plus the text as mentioned. plus changed the task manager icons as well now didnt like the one here. slowly getting there.

and again lol as for installing i did a post somewhere, tryin to find out how to make it a .deb file within my phone since my pc doesnt want to emulate linux in any way via madde/theme maker etc.

once ive sorted all that ill try and post a file, but atm changed a few paths and my menus went to looking like windows 3.11 xD" so changed that back......:D

Just modifying Alpha theme will never give you a good theme, on top of that they are a hassle to package and on top of that you will have to modify every file because the files in the Alpha folder are copy written by nokia. So you can't leave any part of the theme intact and be able to release it to other people. I suggest starting over with MADDE or you are just wasting your time.

right and like i said before madde/theme maker will not run on my pc or my laptop which is why i resorted to doing it this way.

id of loved to use a program instead. I do plan on changing every file so nothing is left of the original nokia theme.

need a little help, for some reason when i change the gtkrc image path i end up with the picture below with my menus. ive got the images in /images/ in my dir but refuses to use em, is there another file i need to change aswell? maybe causing a conflict or something?

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7069/screenshot2010032919213.png

just like it cant find the images. but the path is right...

You shouldn't have to edit gtkrc file if your just replacing files in Alpha folder. Instead of trying to go around MADDE what problem are you having with it? Theme Maker doesn't work so don't use it.

Anyways i think i sorted that little problem with a bit of common sense....was editing the gtkrc.cache file as well and that was my problem lol....makes a cache when it boots up the gtkrc when used, defintaly a moment where my head hit the desk :D

EDIT: forgot to add, im not just replacing the alpha folder sort of lol, since the files are now in another directory, if i dont change it, it will use alpha.

Well if your going to do themes by just editing the files, look at pypackage it will allow you to build your theme into a deb or source pacakge right on the phone. Its dirty but it works.

yeah ive already installed it after you saying on another thread, just need to look into it a bit more and find out the command lines for it, so thats no problem, ive pretty much done all the major pics/backgrounds for it now, just doing the painstaking bit of editing all the files... the other major thing is blending the wallpapers, looks nice to you scroll and see this solid grey next to white.

the only thing i cant find atm, is the colour line for the network on the desktop, since its white background against white writing, cant read it, but im guessing its the main colour so the lot will change.

ill post some more pics later on when ive done all the call buttons etc.

ah forgot to update this lol, my bad. The theme itself is done, ive just been ironing out some things with it. im just not sure as to what colour to use for the fonts, at the moment its yellow and dark yellow for default and secondary but against white background it's hard to read but against the others it's fine, and the title bar i think i might change. ill take some screenshots and make a new thread. could do with some ideas to finalize it.
