I see two threads with multiple exclamation points in today's list of hot threads.

A general rule of thumb is that the more exclamation points used, the less important the message. This is because the user feels the need to compensate for the triviality of the message by increasing the number of ! points.

So, with the exception of this thread, I would advise skipping threads with lots of exclamation points in the title. (Except for this one!!!!)

I Thought this was the point of threads with '!!!!!!' was to see just how trivial they are, also goes for CAPITAL LETTERS as well, lol.
thats why I read this thread.

(You forgot to say that after a few exclamation points, they automatically morph into 1's, because the author of that piece loses the hold of the shift key).

WAIT! What if the message it typed from the N900? Would the exclamation point turn into L's?

People who put lots of exclamation points in thread titles are like men who drive sports cars or hummers; compensating for lack of substance where it matters. ;)

Might not be much left of the forum... but that would make it much less of a time waster.....

Really, I like people using them. It tells me right from the offset that I should avoid that thread for I'll find nothing useful in it.

Some people have problem getting proper attention in real life when they're trying to talk to other people.... and they compensate by talking louder, getting in your face, cutting people off, etc...

...it seems to me that this is the online implementation of that behavior.

Does that mean people who post more than one question mark after their questions are really trying to state facts????

Serious question: What do women think of men who drive small cars? I've just always been curious, as I prefer small cars.
