I hate them both... They are such apple fanboys. I can understand if they say good things about apple but saying bad things about nokia when it is not warrented is very frustrating.

what frustrates me to no end is that they otherwise (to me anyways) have some pretty cool and thought provoking articles. so I'm stuck sifting through all their iTrash for the good posts.

another thing that makes me so upset is just once, just once, I'd like to see one of the editors get slapped in the face, or denied entry to a microsoft event, or something that can show the world that they are not a tech news site, but a biased fanboy blog.

Listening to NPR today, I was disgusted to hear what felt like a really long ipad advertisement and how it is being given to students at a university... barf...

These links make browsing the likes of Gizmodo and Engadget great again. This iPad is all they talk about, which if i was interested in, would be great, but I'm not! Plus, I want to read about more than one gadget :D

the problem with browsing like that is that you sometimes miss actual news because they tend to stick the apple tag on everything.

for a tech site, gizmodo seems biased. i updated my feedingit the day and after the day the ipad got released and like 95% of the topics are about the ipad. from ipad hardware, news, steve jobs ipad blah blah, and even every apps got reviews...

kinda unfair for other gadgets seriously. for a tech site, the writers seems like average techies since all gadget freaks know that there are tons of better devices than the apple products. apple are just really good at marketing and woah! factor simplicity...

engadget seems just tackling what's hot and in today than gizmodo's obsession to all apple creation...

Well the blogs do need to keep up relations with device manufacturers and essentially it is a popularity contest. The more they have readers, the more device manufacturers will suppory them with freebies and prototypes. And people want to read about Apple, be it hatingly or lovingly.

I'm sure it is because of the money. News related to a certain brand are read by more people, so more revenue from advertisers. When people get tired of it it they will change, unless another blog comes up and they will just disappear.

arstechnica.com and techcrunch.com are good alternatives to both izmodo and igadget

Anyone ever watch the thekseven phoneage blogs? I love john. I personally feel his blogs are spot on, and extremely unbiased. I sometimes find myself wishing he would pick a side so I can pinpoint where he leans.

also, for those of you who dont know, I do have a site

and it has crossed my mind at least 100 times to make a "gizmodo sucks" blog, and I would just point out on each post howmuch they and their reviews suck. but I canalmost garantee the guys over there will just post it on their site and say something like

"Gizmodo is so cool, it even has hate sites!!" and make me look like some kind of quak. like
"This guy apparently has so much free time he wrote a hate site just for us. Let him know what you think"

then my email would be flooded, or my server would get hacked by some gizmodo follower.

believe me the thought crosses my mind often. I might just get fed up and do it. I feel like i'm creeping closer and closer to that edge.
