Intel have confirmed that MeeGo v1.1 should land in late October 2010.

I notice on the spec list that the screenshot is for the Intel UX design, Nokia will have their own separate UX design isn't that right? It's a bit 'windows 7'-y looking, maybe the dark colours, and Im not fussed on all the touch buttons being cramped towards the bottom edge on the screenshot showing call handling.. however all the empty space means we get to see a pic of a lovely dog which is great.

The desktop design is nice and fresh looking, quite like that.

Is this anyway different from Moblin? Only minor changes I think. I tried Moblin when the version 2.0 was released. I liked it on netbook becase it was very fast (boot time and usage in general). I would like something like this on my N810 :)

I'll be dual booting it on my netbook and N900 :D

Hope it's decent.

I’m happy to see that the social networking ‘integrated experience’ is mentioned because this is an excellent core feature on the Maemo 5-based Nokia N900.

where was that?
me as a N900 user didn't found it. It sucked, except for the status display which was delayed and the share function nothing worked. everything you wanted to do you would of been forwarded to the web-browser, which was amazing, but Facebook wasn't integrated.

Well Meego looks awesome. But to me it looks like it's overloaded with widgets which i doubt would be pleasantly viewable on the n900's small screen. So even if it gets ported,i dont think it willbe as usable as the current OS.

I'll give an arm and a leg to have portrait mode. for me portrait and the front camera to work (or to disappear) are the only things missing in this os. I can live without the rest.

This is awesome. This is what Maemo on N900 should have been. Really liked UI for smart phone.Very clean and simple. Still look little bit cluttered compared to Win7. This is looking more like Win7. I know that is unfair comment but since win7 candy has been out before meego it is going to get compared. Now what is required is to get this fast to market.

Have any of you ever USED Windows 7? This looks nothing like it. It looks like... well it looks like Moblin. Which isn't surprising, since it basically IS Moblin.

Unless you guys are referring to Windows 7 Phone, but it doesn't look like that either.

The N900 goes way beyond merely a smartphone. Though with how open MeeGo (hopefully) is, we can configure it as we want.

I really think this is only Intel's UI of MeeGo... Nokia's UI will look different, imo.

The UI has no buttons to switch task or open the menu etc.....
Leads me to think that Meego requires Hard-Keys.

camkeyd (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=35580) solves that problem nicely...

I'm not sure if i'll upgrade from my N900 this year since it's only now starting to reach its true potential but I would definitely buy a 10" Nokia tablet with a pixel qi screen running MeeGo.

I know its only a test screenshot but I am highly ammused with the appointment list;

10.30 Visit new flat
13.00 Have fun
Sat Get Married

The date is the 5th March 2010, which is a friday, who in their right mind looks at a new flat, then has fun, the day before they get married? lol

That would be awesome, configure the UI to be whatever you want.
