Is it possible to add a catalog/repository in a command line instead of using the application manager? I tried to modify the sources.list file in the /etc/apm and /etc/apm/sources.list.d directories, but it didn't work.

Try adding it to /etc/apt/sources.list/hildon-application-manager.list ? Seems to have a list of the repos too.

Edit: once you add it here ^^ and run an "apt-get update" it tries to updates the package lists, this would be the way to do it if you don't want it via the App Manager.

If you want it in the app manager aswell you'll need to edit "/etc/hildon-application/manager/catalogues" though am unsure if this is all

Also - didn't realise it was Maemo4, sorry ;o)

with maemo 5 it's
/etc/apt/
and since it is debian style anyway, so it should be in maemo 4, too.
but with the n900 at least, the sources list in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ is recreated at boot.

as for the command line -- i would think gconf could do that, but since i loathe that thing (reminds me too much of windows' registry), i never realy cared to learn how to use it.
