N800 screen - uneven backlight?

Hi,

This is my first post as a new N800 owner. I just received it today and I have already noticed that my N800 has uneven back lighting to the LCD screen. It has a noticeable 'shadow' about 1cm in from the right. Is this normal or is my N800 going back to the shop?

Just got mine as well, and it has it too. From what i have read on the forum, it seems to
be a common problem that almost all units have. It doesnt bother me much though as
it is mostly noticable against bright white background.

The shadow is a normal result of the current lcd emitter design. It manifests to various degrees. If it's very bad, exchange the device-- but I recommend examining devices in store before leaving with them.

And as pixl hinted, there are numerous comments on the subject that a forum search will turn up.
