UPgraded to latest software unit turns itself on

I just upgraded to th elatest software version and when I take the n800 out of the softcase I find it has turned itself on, and also after I try to shut it off it then restarts again. This a new n800. Is anyone else having these problems?

I've seen this as well. Unfortunately I've no solution and my N800 has apparently died. :( It won't power up and when plugged in, it turns on and off. I got the extended warranty so I'm off to CompUSA before they close thier doors.

play2win - have you checked for "ghost" or "hidden" alarms? An alarm can turn on a powered off device, and for some reason it's possible to have an alarm that doesn't show up in the list of "set" alarms.

play2win, you may be speaking of two separate behaviors. The N800 "wakes to touch" by default. So, when you pull it out of your pocket, The screen is registering your touch before you pull it out of the soft pouch...


And as Milhouse says, an alarm could be powering it up unexpectedly at other times.

BTW, I found these "ghost" alarms occurring on other equipment and it may have something to do with alarms or events that were recorded prior to the upgrade. It's usually best to clear them, and anything that stays resident before a firmware flash.
