Hey guys i downloaded an album directly to my n900 unzipped it and stuck it in the .sounds folder but something went wrong and only 4 songs from the 26 on the album played so I re-downloaded it onto my PC, deleted it from the phone and then put it back on but for some reason now all the songs show in duplicate and don't play!
I've deleted it now again but media player still thinks it's there what is the directory to the .sounds folder through terminal so I can go in through there and fully remove the album it is annoying!!

directory? it sounds like you may want the file path. is that right? if so then i think you want
I figured that out by using the ls command. it seems to list all the files/folders in a directory. my understanding of it is director means folder.
so i just typed the pwd command to see where i was
then i typed ls to see the list of directories
then i typed cd filenamehere based off of the directories that were listed from the ls command
cd filename (in my case this was MyDocs. its prob the same for u 2)
i kept doing that on and on and on down the directory tree till i found the sounds folder good luck. btw i dont know a whoel lot about linux but these commands shouldnt damage ur phone in anyway and u dont have to be root to use them. When you get to what you want just type pwd to see the full file path

When it comes to media stored under MyDocs, the directory names have a prepended "." in them. This means that they will not show up unless you give the "-a" flag to ls.
