Switch off!!

When I select the Switch Off!! option my N800 shuts down and then reboots. So I have no way of turning off the device. This just started last week and I have no idea why? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you push the off button real quick and then select "switch off" from the menu?

If so, you might try holding the power button for something about 7 or 8 seconds and it will power down. Might help...worth a try at least.

I had this problem for a while and then I read about the "phantom alarm". So, I created an alarm and then deleted it. Since then, when I select shut down the N800 does exactly that - without the auto-reboot you are seeing.

It seems there may be an alarm set that does not show up - and this seems to prevent the N800 shutting down and staying that way. I used to hold the power button down for a long time to force it to power off - but selecting the shutdown from the menu simply did a shutdown and restart.
