mplayer will play ogg files; not a clean solution, but better then nothing. ogg while an open standard is not a widely used standard yet unlike the others you mention.

MPlayer doesnt feel like a good player for that purpose.

Look for a program called "Oggplay" - I can't remember which repository I got it from. It was originally written for the 770, but works fine on the 800.

Since the N800's media players are mainly based upon gstreamer porting the gstreamer ogg plugin should be the only thing we need.
rickh: I found oggplay and installed it but it complained about libxau0 missing, do you know where i can find it?
Lithorus: ok, if you find it ported tell me :)

Are you talking about the libxau0 file? The version I'm using was installed with the osso-xterm package. Install that first, then install oggplay and you should be good.

I have installed osso-xterm already.
When im starting oggplay from the menu it just says "loading oggplay" for about 5 seconds then nothing happens.
When i start it from the terminal i get this message:
Nokia-N800-51:/# oggplay
oggplay: error while loading shared libraries: libXau.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Hmm... open an xerm, then go to /usr/lib
What does ls -l libXau* give you?
Mine looks like this:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Mar 15 07:29 libXau.so.0 -> libXau.so.0.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7132 May 26 2006 libXau.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Dec 20 05:23 libXau.so.6 -> libXau.so.6.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8536 Aug 2 2006 libXau.so.6.0.0
/usr/lib $ file libXau.so.0

This is what i got:
Nokia-N800-51:/usr/lib# ls -l libXau*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Dec 20 12:23 libXau.so.6 -> libXau.so.6.0.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8536 Aug 2 2006 libXau.so.6.0.0
Enable red pill mode in the application manager, then you will be able to install the libXau package.
Thanks, i finally got oggplay to work but its not a good music player.
I didnt even find a way to add a directory.
