No Nokia support but I believe there is a community that will be doing the adaptation.

Well there's no GUI and it's pretty pointless if you aren't a developer. Engadget put the picture of the netbook version

hmm after reading i guess this info isnt complete so to correct it the Meego 1.0 Release with GUI is for Laptops only. For the N900 there is a special development Edition Commandline only without UI so far i know.

Nokia said that there will be no commercial release of Meego. However Nokia is using the N900 to test and adapt Meego to ARM devices. This means that Meego will work on N900 with all the drivers and everything.

I'm sure thata good version of Meego will be released for the N900. I don't think it will be by Nokia, but Nokia will share it with a community that aims to release Meego to the N900. The thing about no commercial release is that you can not expect any updates or support from Nokia. Not for the N900/Meego combination anyway. However there will be support by the community.

About MeeGo 1.0 Core release for N900

It does NOT include

- Mobile UI/UX (N900 will boot to Xterm)
- Reference Applications

It is intended for MeeGo developers for development purposes, and

- has practically NO value for end users
- has little value for MeeGo application developers.

Please do NOT install it if you don't know what you need it for.
