D-Iivil, your Ovi theme would look sooo good packaged like Black Plastic....with a range of colour choices and custom transitions.
You've clearly stated your *aversion* to making lighter themes - and why - but overall the Ovi theme manages to remain very legible despite the hildon-ui shortcomings.
Soooo, if you've got some theme-making time spare....[insert hopeful grin here]
:)

So other users can weigh in with their opinions/feedback/suggestions.
I'm not the only one here who likes light themes, you know.

I personally think light themes are not worth the effort since not all applications are usable with those (hand of fate is moving and the finger points to Nokia and their bad hildonization on some apps) :/

Using standard gtkrc that is. Adding custom rc:s for diferent apps and widgets helps out a lot, not perfect but it is very much doable. It would help if nokia would release more specific details about widgets, classes and names though.

What I'm talking about is situation like this (the calendar app):
- background color is from theme
- fonts are hard colored to be white
What's the point with that?

Ai niin.
I didn't know that. I know that there are several apps that hardcode colors but I didn't know that the preinstalled ones did that too. And I must agree' that sucks big time, and makes no sence at all.
