problems with text entry

Lately text input has been doing bizarre things, such as:
1. Randomly switching to caps lock mode in the middle of words.
2. When exiting full-screen mode, duplicating large portions of text.
Has anyone else had problems like these? If so, how did you solve them? If this is a bug, how would I go about reporting it?
