Instructions on how to do that are here (http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=757). This will leave you with two installations on your N900, Maemo on the system memory and MeeGo on the SD card. It's not fully dual boot as it requires a computer to load the MeeGo kernel every time you want to use it, but it does mean that the Maemo install stays clean and useable.

do u mean the below link
http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/Install/MMCYeah that link tells you how to install an image onto the SD, but not how to build one. The only public image available is limited to say the least, the link I posted shows you how to build an image complete with the UX (not that it does very much at the moment anyway).

I am having trouble getting the kernel flashed, trying it from an Ubuntu 10.4 install.
anthonie@anthonie-laptop:~$ sudo ./flasher-3.5 -l -b -k meego-handset-armv5tel-n900-nokia-proprietary-1.0.80.13.20100803.2-mmcblk0p.raw

I don't get it. I have done all the steps as described in the wiki page mentioned above in this thread. Put the SD card in my laptop, dd'd the raw image over to the card, taken it out and put it in the N900.
After that the command given as pasted above, outcome is the same.
The SD card that I used is a 4 gig Micro SD, with EXT3 fs on it. If the given command would be wrong, I suppose I'd get an error message, right?

all installation works fine! but when i boot to meego i get a dos like screen on the n900 when trying to boot up meego, saying someting about partitions, and on another row something about "panic kernel"
After some time it quits and the n900 is shut down.
What am i doing wrong here? I have formatted the card in ext3 before writing the raw image to it. then insert in the n900, connect the usb holding U and flashed the kernel. after that i get that message about panic and stuff.... its like he cant read the proper data from the sd card.

Generally you might be asking in the wrong place, MeeGo on N900 experts usually hangs out at forums.meego.com.

You are better of trying NITDroid than MeeGo at this point. MeeGo is not for average users currently, it's only for developers. NITDroid will make you much more happier and will keep your Maemo in parallel.
Check NITDroid forums for more info and instructions.

i need some info on meego too
i used the autoinstaller for NITDROID
and if my theory is correct, i can make another partition on my memcard
thing is,
first, can someone temme what commands to type for a 3gb partition?
2nd, how to add a kernel and OS file location to multiboot 0.2.10?
kernel added for maemo/nitdroid were .deb files..
which is weird..
where do i get the deb file for meego's kernel?

I have exactly the same problems!
Trying to load just a kernel and use eMMC card to test MeeGo image, because I do not want to "harm" the phone, because I am using it.
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and do this:
$ sudo flasher-3.5 -l -b -k meego-handset-armv7l-n900-1.1.80.1.20101012.1-vmlinuz-2.6.35.3-8.8-n900
flasher v2.5.2 (Oct 21 2009)
Suitable USB device not found, waiting.
USB device found found at bus 003, device address 002.
Found device RX-51, hardware revision 2101
NOLO version 1.4.14
Version of 'sw-release': RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_MR0
Sending kernel image (1563 kB)...
Write failed after 0 bytes
usb_bulk_write: No such file or directory
Anybody found the solution?
Thanks,
Matej

Some progress...
It seems that the problem is with Ubuntu, because if I use Windows XP and that is on a VirtualBox, running on the same Ubuntu 10.04 I can load the kernel, but after that device just reboots and nothing happens :(
Yes, I prepared the SD card and the battery cover is on, just like the wiki says.
