How does the 770 do with netvibes.com and other web 2.0 sites like it?
netvibes.com
google.com/ig
live.com
my.yahoo.com
goowy.com
Other web 2.0 sites to test
meebo.com
writely.com
pandora.com
Feel free to add to the list ... these are just the web 2.0 sites I use.
I was told somewhere in the forums netvibes. does not work, google.com/ig does, live.com don't know, my.yahoo.com don't know, goowy.com don't know, meebo don't know, writely.com does not work, pandora.com don't know.
This is just what I heard round the forums though, so you may get better answers from someone else down the line.
By the way, I would like to see how my site works on the 770.

dang, I love netvibes. Is there any development being done to extend the browser's JS capabilities?
Yeah, Netvibes is the bomb. I don't think the JavaScript capabilities are the problem. It's more of a browser issue. I think the 770 browser is based on Opera and some of those sites just are not compatible. I would love to get some source from Netvibes to play with though.

netvibes.com
I get a white screen that says "Opera and Safari support to come..."
google.com/ig
I have no idea what it's supposed to look like, but it appears to load up fine.
live.com
I get a white screen with "Windows Live" and evil windows logo and a single box. I type a term in the box, it gives search results.
my.yahoo.com
I was able to log in, but had some trouble setting up my homepage. It seems to not work correctly.
goowy.com
It says I don't have the appropriate version of Macromedia Flash.

You may want to download Opera and test it. Most incompatibilities will probably stem from Opera or flash.

I have opera. I was just wondering if it behaved differently on the 770 but I guess not. I'm disappointed they went with Opera. Firefox has a lot more acceptance in the web 2.0 community.
Personally, I like the Opera browser better than any other but its compatibility issues have driven me back to Firefox.
Does anybody know if Firefox is slated for maemo release any time soon?
Yeah, I think the memory consumption of Firefox was the reason they didn't choose it. It would be great if the 770 browser was more compatible though. Bummer.
