rasterman, the current lead developer of EFL and such E17 is now a proud owner of a nokia n800. According to his website he has already ported it and is now tinkering with optimization. I'm quite excited as that is my favorite WM.
Check this link to help dispel your doubt.

This is the best news for ages.

I just happened to check back and he is coming along quite nicely. I cant wait.
e17 would be a nice alternative as a windows manager; it's lightweight and if it's packaged with similar software as PuppyLinux, I would ditch that laptop and only carry the n800

his page makes no mention of the n800, his last post was november 2007, so I'm curious as to why it disappeared!

He has pics of the n800 running e17 but I very much doubt we'll see the finished port.

Rasterman is very involved in e17; may be the n800 is sleeping in a drawer and not a priority at all. http://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=news&l=en

Truer words were never said. He's been working towards V1.0 of E for 12 years it seems.

he even shows up here, in the part about how qtopia does gui rendering:

it seems btw that his work with openmoko and enlightenment will go hand in hand:

have you used e17? Even unfinished it's a wonderful desktop, with many apps, eye candy, it can use transparency even in a P2 with 64mb of ram and it run very fast.
When it is released, it will be the killer desktop for gnu/linux.

Yes, I compiled it february 2008 on my Slackware box. It's here and there very unstable, but looks nice.

I'm off to try it. Pretty big though, I've got it down to 20MB though. I'll put share files on mmc. No idea if it will work on OS2008. Plus there really needs to be an uninstall script. And how do you actually start it?
