It sounds simple - copy a file from my PC to my N800 - but I can't make it work and I can't seem to search on the right set of keywords to find out why...

I can see files on my Windows box from the N800's file manager. I can NOT view them remotely. If I drag and drop or cut and paste a file to one of my SD cards, I get the error "Operation failed." If I do the same to the N800's internal memory it appears to start but eventually I get a "connection failed" error. File size does not matter. I'm well within the range of Bluetooth.

It's possible you can't copy a file from another device directly to an SD card, but if so that's pretty lame.

I've noticed that I can't delete files from the file manager, but I can from the command line. I'm running the device in dev mode so I can be root for ssh, etc. I suppose any of these might explain why it's not working.

I'd appreciate any insight... I'm out of ideas. Thanks!

Although I haven't tried a connection that direction(pull from computer) I have been able to push files to the N800 from a Windows box once the OBEX push server is installed. The OBEX server for the N800 can be found within the http://downloads.maemo.org/

Looks like the issue is bigger than this - the file manager has no writable access at all, not just an inability to delete. It may not be Bluetooth at all.

I just flashed my 770 to OS2007HE and made it boot from mmc.
Then I was not able to copy files from /media/mmc1 to documents using File Manager...
Anybody know how to resolve this?
