Statusbar applets

Hey all

I have a "problem" with my 770's status bar that is driving me crazy. From right to left, the icons in the status bar are as follows: battery, internet connection, sound, brightness, <blank>, statusbar-clock, and the cpu/mem monitor. You might notice the <blank> in the list. Can I get rid of it in any way? I have no idea what caused it. Reflashing is clearly over-reacting to the problem, and OS2007 is not viable (was not very stable when I tried it, the last version of OS2006 is immensely stable on my unit), even though OS2007 has a "configurable" status bar.

Hi.

That space is reserved for the chat client's status icon. If you haven't set any account, there will be just blank space. I have no idea how to get rid of that, though.

I'd actually love to get rid of the chat client completely... or replace the blank with a gmail notifier. Or something!
