I repeatedly experience the following problem.

situation:
N800, latest firmware (3.2007.10-7), default media player, internet radio always set to somafm drone zone 24k feed.

problem:
spontaneous reboot after 15 min - 30 min of playing, but not every time ... sometimes it will play for hours

previously tried canola but either canola or something i installed with it left me on a white screen such that i had to reflash ... after the third reflash i decided to go with default stuff until i have time to laboriously test each install separately ...

I had this case once, white screen and no reaction to any buttons. I took out the battery, waited 1 minute and then it rebooted without problems.

I doubt you have to reflash unless you really mess up your installation.

Actually, I did have to reflash multiple times. I did try battery removal. There was some specific combination and order of installation of canola / bash / screen / mplayer / ... that was guaranteed not to reboot. I did it three times. I had just bought the N800 and immediately installed everything I wanted.

That's not what I was writing about today, though. I only mentioned that because I thought someone might suggest "try Canola" to solve the problem and that's not an option until I have more free time to find which element of the combo was the problem.

What I was writing about today was spontaneous rebooting while playing Internet radio under a fairly vanilla configuration. I was trying to find out if others have experienced that. Searching this site on several keywords turned up nothing specific.

I don't have bash or screen installed and don't inherently trust however you got them installed. I also don't have the problem you describe.
