Just curious if the vets had any recommendations... I'm looking for best possible deal with the least possible hassle.

I'd say Amazon. $380, no shipping, no tax.
It took me over a week to get mine, but it was worth saving the $60 difference for me. $399 + tax vs. $380.

I would say here or eBay.

I'll second the Amazon.Com recommendation. Unless there's a significant discount (say, <$300), buying from eBay or another private seller isn't worth the risk if something breaks or if you just decide the N800 isn't right for you.

I ended up finding a great deal on one at directron.com for approx $250 + ~$10 shipping. Arrived within a few days. Very satisfied.

I'm selling mine, but I'm not a retailer and it isn't brand new...

You might want to put it on ebay as quickly as you can, before people realise there's been a price cut, and before they hear about a new tablet model.

I just bought mine today from Buy.com for $240 free shipping. It's on its way and I opted for faster delivery for another $7. I'm still "jazzed" about the N800 even though the new model is coming. It'll probably be more expensive than I want to spend anyway. I'm really going to depend on this forum for advice and tips.
Thanks for this forum.
I've been keeping track of the prices (http://net9.blogspot.com/2007/10/n800-price-drops-have-begun.html) since the beginning. I'll try to keep it updated as time progresses. If anyone knows of other sites selling the N800 for a reduced price, please let me know.

i went the ebay route, i found a (hopefully) honorably geeky seller who shipped priority mail w/ insurance for less than $255 altogether, cali to indy. tracking says it left cali today at 3pm. i'm actually sort of excited.
i've never seen an n800 here in indianapolis, and i hang around some uber geeky crowds, knowing my luck one of my friends will buy the n810 same day it comes out.

If you do go with Buy.com don't waste your money on the Standard delivery. Painfully slow. :(

"I am afraid the N800 will be ALL gone tomorrow, honey....so I place an order just for you,..." My wife totally agree with me :D . I checked with Directron, they have it in stock, now at this moment, and put in your email address, that get you another 7$ discount, for a total of $228 USD for a N800. I placed the order with buy.com for $239.99 - $10 google check out, and the total is $229.99. Thanks for keeping the price check........

After I placed my order in a panic state, I have time to look around, and "sorry" to find out Beach Audio, CircuitCity, Target are out of stock, most of them have in stock, especially provantage has 560 in stock now! I do not check eCost, I had very bad experience with these people.
