[Release] Pleego-remix

Hi, I've been working on my first theme, a remix of the pleego theme from D-livils "Black plastic" addon pack 2.

Pleego-remix and its associated icon pack are avaliable through the extras repository.

New versions undergoing testing can be found in the extras-testing repository and those still undergoing development throught the extras-devel repository.

I have included an icon background in the theme, if you would like to remove it please either use the 'Theme Customizer' app which will be installed as part of 'Pleego-remix'. This can be found in 'Settings'.

Update: 0.7.0 - 25/10/10

Pleego-remix 0.7.0 has just his extras-testing and now includes an icon-set.
Please use D-livil's 'Theme Customiser' to select which icon-set to use.

* Added package icon
* Reduced notification close button size to match task windows
* Added dependancy on 'pleego-remix-icon-pack'

I've just installed pleego-remix off the extras-devel repo -- however the desktop app icons have a thick grey border around them unlike in your screenshots where they are borderless.

Is that intended and can it be removed?

He's using theme customizer and has removed the icon backgrounds. Good job on your first theme buddy. I have to say I like it.

I installed it from the repos but It doesnt appear in the theme selector. Is there any other package prerequisite for this??

Open x-term

run

root
apt-get update
apt-get install pleego-remix


I uploaded quite a few builds last night so you may not have the newest one for some reason.

Give that a go, reboot your phone and then try to select the theme.

Hi, thanks for downloading and trying my theme.

I thought it bad practice just to remove the iconBGs so I left them in with the thought that if you would like to remove them you can run the following commands

root

mv /usr/share/themes/pleego-remix/images/ApplicationShortcutApplet.png /usr/share/themes/pleego-remix/images/ApplicationShortcutApplet.png.orig

mv /usr/share/themes/pleego-remix/images/ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png /usr/share/themes/pleego-remix/images/ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png.orig


This will rename the icon background and the background for the pressed state so they won't show.
Alternatively you can use the theme customizer app found in the repositories.

I just got off my bottom and aptitude'd it. Greatest theme ever. I loved pleego-blue, but hated some things about it. This remix fixes everything I hated about it while preserving the theme. Great job.

Glad you like it, I had similar feelings to pleego-blue, loved some bits, some bits not so much.

I'll be doing a few transparent themes when I get a few more ideas together, in the mean time though, I'll see what I can knock up for you.
Any other changes you'd like? If you can screenshot them and annotate/draw badly what you want, then I'll do what I can. (pretty good at working from baaaad drawings...I do it for a living ;) )

Completely stand alone.
It will install 'pleego-remix-icon-pack' and 'theme-customiser' if not already installed.

It should be in settings under personalisation.

If you can't find it you might want to open xterm and run the following

root
apt-get update
apt-get install theme-customizer

That should install/upgrade/tell you latest version is already installed.
Failing that, get onto D-livil as theme-customizer is one of his creations.
