Try "powatool" to acticate the battery icon again.

For me is working fine... But I have a question...
Both indicator of time left don't make any sense (with 50% i got 3:00/104:00). What is this about? 3 hours using it and 103 hours of stand by? That's impossible!
The only way to make the battery lasts 103 hours is buying other device!

Well, mine says (after full charge), 94% 6:00/203:00.
The wierd thing is, i barely use wifi or data connection, just to update stuff and turn off, so my battery going up to 3 days (sometimes less, sometime more).
Installed the extras version V0.4.2-4.

I have seen some recent updates to this app but I have to say that I haven't installed it.
Is there any changelog?
Last time I used it, it had a bug that apparently drained battery very fast. Any news on that?

Installed the last update version 0.5 and now the battery status is no working. His color is static grey and in status bar says "starting APMO". Reboot and install again after remove didn't solve. But after remove and reboot it shows the default battery status, so if this pgm shouldn't work I can use .the default.
Some idea/help?

Hi,
you must deinstall advanced-power-monitor and advanced-power with
apt-get --purge remove advanced-power-monitor advanced-power
as root on console. By this procedure apt-get give you a message that some directory could not delete. Remove this directory and install both packages again.
After this and a reboot everything working fine on my n900.

ps: at your own risk :)

I wonder who currently maintains advanced-power-*. It seems like their garage page (https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?atid=3165&group_id=845&func=browse) has been abandoned (or someone else is pushing the version numbers up ;)). Anyhow, following what stoffel010170 said, here's what I found:
Purging configuration files for advanced-power ...
rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/hildon-desktop/advpowlib': No such file or directory
Removing advanced-power-monitor ...
stop: Job not changed: apmonitord
Purging configuration files for advanced-power-monitor ...
dpkg - warning: while removing advanced-power-monitor, directory `/opt/maemo/usr/lib/advanced-power-monitor/wrappers' not empty so not removed.
dpkg - warning: while removing advanced-power-monitor, directory `/opt/maemo/usr/lib/advanced-power-monitor' not empty so not removed.
I'm guessing the postrm script needs to be modified for that package :).

Yes, from Xterm. You need Rootsh installed first though.

Since the upgrade, I get some weird results from the monitor application. Right now, my phone is on for almost 22 hours, and the battery is reported to be 88% full. Before the upgrade, the battery ( same daily usage ) was about 54%. I use the original BL-5J battery although I don't see this battery type when I click the monitor icon and search through the battery types. Right now, the BQ27200 is selected on preferences. Any ideas?

Once I have Rootsh installed, what is the script to get to root before I apply the main scripts?

You should just be able to type root in Xterm. There have been a few times that hasn't worked for me though. Is that doesn't work, type sudo gainroot . I've never figured out why root doesn't work occasionally.
Edit : By the way, I was having the same problem and the script fixed it. Thanks to those who posted it originally.

The 0.5.0 update fixed my battery issues!
The issue was that every time I would charge my phone, as soon as I unplugged it, whether it was fully charged with a green light or not, it would instantly say the battery was empty and start beeping for a few minutes, then it would normalize, but say that I only had around 70% battery left.
This community rules! The weird thing is, this is after I switched to the Nokia BME Alternative. This issue has been there since I got this phone (it was a replacement for my original that was fried by a bad car charger).

Don't get wrong, but a bit of search will help you ;)

Well It seems that BQ27200 is ****ed up.
N900 shows 70% of battery before it shuts down because the power of the bat is totally drained (it happened to me twice).
I'm testing BQ27200 alternative right now. If it doesn't work like before, I'll use nokia BME.

Change the battery type to Nokia BME
After charging it overnight and turned on it gave me absurd percentages: 99.7% after switching on (never even had since it was new), 97% after a few hours and so on. I set the battery of Nokia's BME and 97% fell to 46% which seems to me to be realistic after approx. 5 hours of use.
