Nokia 770 Memory Expansion Help

I just bought a new 770 and a Kingston 1GB RS-MMC card and I was reading about how I could re-partition it and then use it to run the OS making it much faster. I know I have to get xterm, get root access, then partition it but I was wondering if someone could just guide me through it. All of the guides online are either too vague or assume that everyone knows exactly what they are talking about. I just need a simple way to make this 770 worth using. Being able to install games and GAIM and all that would be nice too. I just need someone to explain the very basics of using the 770. Thanks.
