Well, I must say I'm quite pleased with my 770 I got today. Now all I need is my 2 gb rs-mmc card and I'm good to go.

Honestly though, I'm scared to death of Linux. I'm having a pretty hard time figuring out the whole installing stuff thing, so I'll stay away from it now.

My only question for this (a dumb one at that) is if there is anyway to get flash on this that would allow youtube to work. I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

The one thing that sucks most, however, is that I was really looking forward to using Orb for all of my music and videos on my computer. The only problem, I have a Mac. I really wish they would make a Mac OS X compatible Orb.

Ima read up on this tonight, and maybe by tommorrow I'll be able to figure out how to download apps and such. Good times!

Unfortunately it's not possible to get a youtube-capable version of flash on any tablet. N800 flash can display youtube videos, but at rather low framerates only.

Your best bet is to take the bookmarklet from this page:
http://1024k.de/bookmarklets/video-bookmarklets.html

and then play the resulting file in MPlayer.

As far as Orb, you might want to look into Mediastreamer for the 770 and a UPnP video server. There's a -lot- of information available on this in the forums, but I don't have any links handy at the moment.

WUThad:
You'll have to install uktube to get youtube clips to play.
Also, installing stuff is really easy. Easier than installing software to windows. So, don't be afraid.

I tried to d/l youtube videos with the booklet, but youtube takes me to a page where it complains that I do not have the java applets on, and the flashplayer is not there...

Anyone have a few screenshots of what this thing is supposed to look like on the 770?

(by the way, how do I take screenshots from the 770?)

thx

Install this utility on your 770 - http://maemo.org/downloads/product/load-applet/

Make sure most apps are turned off, in particular VNC or rdesktop, otherwise load-applet will NOT install. And also, there are other CPU/mem/screen shot apps like load-applet, just install one of them of your choice, installing more than one may have unexpected results.
