(http://www.palm.com ), Hawkins mentions that Palm has three businesses -- personal digital assistants (PDAs), the smartphone, and a secret mobile computing related business.

-- It could well be the LifeDrive. But if it is, well, that's a great disappointment. It's just a PDA with a hard drive. And Infinite Garnet is *not* the OS for the next five years! I can't see this as being a Third Business. But then, Palm has always operated with such self-delusion...

What I found most interesting in that article was Palm dumping their stuff for half the cost it took to make!

Palm had huge inventory problems and that affected us. They were dumping their product on the market for half the price of manufacture.

Wow. Sony could not have been pleased about that, either!
