SD card help

My latest newbie question: Can I go ahead and buy a 4gb SD card? Based on what I have read here it will work, but do I need to do anything special other than make sure I am running the latest OS update?

What about 8gb in case I want to splurge?

It might be possible, with adapters.
I've learned that RS-MMC (comes with the device) and MMC mobile are both compatible in the 770.
