newbie xterm vi how do i hit ESC?

Dumb question most likely but asking away.

In XTERM when I vi a file I can't find the ESC key. Anyone help?

The escape key is the home key below the large navigation keys. I had the same problem.

Specifically, the part of the hardware key with the curly arrow on it. Hitting the part with the house or the page brings up menus.
