Hi,
Does anyone know if the N800 will accept XD Picture cards? I am going to buy a Fujifilm digital camera soon and it only uses XD cards. I can't find any info about this. Thanks :)

SD has long been the near universally adopted standard for camera memory cards. Anyone that is using something else at this point is on crack or is trying to push their own proprietary standard (Sony).

Actually Fuji and Olympus use xD cards and not SD cards.
It is unfortunate, as the small Fuji cameras are still the best in the market.

Indeed. I don't buy Sony cameras (or S-E phones with memory cards) because of those incompatible cards, the same goes for the xD types. I used to have an Olympus camera way back, when smartmedia was the rage. When the new Olympus cameras came out with xD instead of SD (or MMC) which would be the smart choice, I switched to another brand. And I firmly believe that Sony's stubborn choice of sticking to the more expensive, not-much-used memory stick for the PalmOS Clie PDAs was one big reason why they had to pull out of the PDA market. They had one of the nicest PalmOS PDAs out there, got great reviews but always with the big con of incompatible memory card support. Obviously that must have impacted sales in a negative way.
No, if it's not in the MMC family (MMC, MMCPlus, RS-MMC, Mini-SD, Micro-SD, SD, SDHC etc.) then it's no use. That any vendor will use anything else these days is.. I don't know, it makes me speechless.
And yes, I would also have been a Fuji owner now if it wasn't for the card issue. Now I've bought two cameras of another brand, and (as I firmly expected) suddenly there was a new firmware download available which extended the SD support to SDHC as well.
