I have installed the vnc server in my W2000 desktop and have downloaded Vidarīs vnc client from http://vidar.gimp.org/n770/vncviewer.bin.
I copied the file vncviewer.bin to /home/user.
Then I launch the Xterm and type
./vncviewer.bin [ip address]:[port]
The Xterm shows "Cconn: connected to host [ip address]", but nothing more happens and I cannot see the screen of my desktop.
What am I doing wrongly?
Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I have just found the mistake!
I was connecting to port 5800 (the port for the http connection via browser) instead of 5900.
It works and is wonderful to see and manage my desktop from the my 770!
Congratulations and thank you Vidar.

don't think you have to specify the port if unless you specifically changed it on the server.
