Hi
I just got a strange idea.
The Nokia E7 is relatively cheap at these days.
If I brought both a Nokia N9 and a Nokia E7 would it then be possible to take some parts from the Nokia N9 and put them into the Nokia E7 (ex flash ram) and get a N950-wannabye mobile with QWERTY-keyboard running MeeGo Harmattan?
I'm fully aware that this is very risky operation and totally at my own risk. I'm just asking how possible it is?

hmm...i dont know....would that be much more far fetched then taking the 3g chip out of a n95 and sticking it in the e90 to get a 3g e90 in the US? so long as the software supports the components, you shouldnt even have to take them apart....unlike resoldering a chip.

likely you could use something like this:

If the n9 gets popular enough anywhere, maybe some manufacturer will build something like this for it:

You'd end up with nicer hardware than the N950, too.

1. write bt keyboard module to E7
2. connect
3. ductape N9 on top of E7's screen
4. profit.

And that there proves once again, duct tape -- or as some call it, jesus tape -- is like cheese: it can only make things better.

Reading the OP made me think just that.... Duct tape lol!
It's a tall order, borderline of impossible and will never happen. BUT, I am a true believer of "never say never," so I say good luck!
