Allright, figured we who have the device allready might as well have a thread to talk details, share discoveries and impressions, apps and terminal and flashing and so forth without it drowning in "where can i get it??" posts and the likes, which belong in the other N9 thread.
So here goes.
Im leaving for a vacation right now, but I'll update this post with some links and whatnot, feel free to PM me suggestions on what to put in this post.

The N9 pictures look more *** cause they are unedited, while the N8 has upped contrast and saturation.

N8 had sunny conditions.. N9 is rather in darker situations

Either way, the N8 just has an absolutely superb camera. I'm really tempted to buy an N8 now and wait til someone starts selling the N9 for a decent price in the states.
with belle its not TOTAL crap.

As the OP is not responsive at all, and slai seems like he will be...
I suggested in that big thread that the OP rename it to: The N9 water-cooler thread.
Or something along those lines, others agreed, but he has not responded at all.
i started this because there was a request for a thread with focus other than delivery dates and supply and so forth.
this was supposed to be a thread for those who have the n9 and want to talk about news and apps and coming features etc.
however after that **** has hit a fan, so im jumping between threads a lot. which i dont mind personally, but perhaps can be frustrating for some.

on that note; any news on images, flashing, overclocking, plugins, themes, etc for this device? wondering wether the n900s community focus will be something the n9s can match or if most of the maemoguys are avoiding tjeøn9?

yep, tried both.
Fennec: still quite slow. only slightly faster than fennec on the n900.
Opera: perhaps because its unoptimised, but its about as slow as fennec, and only available in landscape mode only. not many menu options either.
I'm using the stock browser mostly at this stage until something proper is released
problem with stock is textboxes like replying on forums for me. display isnt centered where you write a lot of the time, and you cant scroll within the textbox, creating trouble in editing or quoting.

Which version of fennec are you running? I ask because I've been using the nightlies on my N900 and the speed is tolerable (not great but much better than in the past.) Since the N9 is running a little better hardware, I was wondering if it might be better.

looks like a bug that really needs to be fixed please add to:

i would but another flaw emerged. i cant select country in registration there cause it doesnt scroll the list in stock browser...

I believe both issues are fixed already (centring on text, and scrolling in text boxes with two-finger-scroll). Should come in one of the updates then.
cool, that would be perfect. add a choice to user agent and ill be good.

Of the text box issue being fixed. The "not scrolling bug" also affects Dolphin HD on Android. I've been waiting for that to get fixed for quite some too.

You might have to wait for PR 1.1 for that. Copy and paste comes in PR 1.2. HTML form upload in PR 1.3. Flash support (maybe) in PR 1.4.

I'm being nice to you, but sarcastic towards Nokia and about the probability of updates coming to the browser.
The fixes mentioned are not implemented in the current firmware, but are suggested to be implemented for a future update. I'm still waiting for PR 1.4 on my N900. :)
still filing them as bug reports unless done allready cant be less useful than not reporting them.

I am 100% sure we atleast will get ONE update and hopefully above stupid issues about texbox and cut&paste is fixed.
I also think that the PR will be release around NW2011 same goes for symbian Belle for N8/C7 etc..
I mean even if they NW2011 will be VERY WP centric. They MUST show symbian/Harmattan users that they still support those mobiles that still is on the market!
Hell they would fail even more if they dont!
And then I still hope we get updates and actually I think we will get updates. Remember that N9 is NOT N900.
I know 99% will not agree on so please dont flooood with messages about how Nokia has been in history and how ****ed nokia is etc... Let atleast me who buy the device have SOME hope left on this company or atleast Harmattan and Qt....
