Checking screen on new N9?

What's the best way to check a screen for faults on a new N9? I've read reports from some people that have seen artifacts under certain lighting conditions, etc. I want to be sure the screen on mine is flawless (I can send it back to Amazon for replacement if it's not). What's the best method, lights etc?
