While i have used Linux before i have never created anything for the 770 can anyone tell me the pakages i need to install and which languge i should know? :)

What Linux distribution you have? I'd recommend Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com) or Debian (http://www.debian.org) , since that is the distribution on the N770 also. Here (http://zackex.blogspot.com/2005/12/zack-ex-1-easiest-howto-on-nokia-770.html) is a very good how to for installing the SDK for Ubuntu.

What comes to programming languages, C seems to be the only real option currently. That is not the easiest one though. In the future there should be available also Python (http://pymaemo.sf.net) and Java.
