I can't find any working xterm for os2006.
All links are dead or missing dependencies.

Dead link: http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2006/osso-xterm-advanced/
Dead link: http://770.fs-security.com/xterm/files/test/

This link works, but dependencies isn't compatible with OS2006

I found couple install files, but they needs dependencies libncurces5 (>=5.4-1) and libvte4 (>=1:0.11.11) which are not available.

I can't use Application manager to find packages, cause N770 has no internet connection.. WLAN wont find any.

No luck with that either. I tried to find xterm with dependencies about two days.. can't find it anywhere. :( Xterm is first application to install maemo. It should be uploaded to rapidshare etc. for archiving purposes.

Try looking for osso-xterm in that link.

What OS are you running?

Does this look right to you?

See bug 2082 (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2082#c17) for a possible workaround.

That should do it (funny, I could swear that came pre-installed but perhaps my memory is failing me). The version and size look identical across mistral/scirocco/gregale so that deb should work on any "OS2006".

That osso-xterm probably work, but I'm missing dependencies like libncurces5 (>=5.4-1) and libvte4 (>=1:0.11.11). Does anyone know where to find them?

I think Wlan problem is that bug above mentioned, because I has found my wlan couple times, but lost it immediately. Hugging hasn't helped me and I even made small "foilhat" to my handheld with no help. :D

I have HTC Wildfire, but when I try pair it I got error: "Selected phone does not have services that can be used. Select another phone."

I get error "Unable to install. Incompatible package." when trying to install those packages. I'm using OS2006 ed v. 3.2006.49-2. I tried to flash N770 with all os2006 versions, but got same error.

:-(

I think it's just the application manager being silly and refusing to install libraries. The usual solution is to install them via the command line, but if you haven't got a terminal....

I can't think of any way around this without an Internet connection. Can you try at another (less noisy, radio-wise) location perhaps?

I have cpu/mem load-applet with run command installed.. Could I install libraries using it? Like "sudo gainroot dpkg -i /media/mmc1/libncurces5_5.4-3_armel.deb".. N770 is in R&D mode.

For N900 it was stated that packages that are not in "user" category can not be installed from the file manager, only via cmdline.
